What causes sewage to back up under a house?
Most often a broken or blocked waste line running under the crawlspace — common in pre-1960 Peninsula homes with original cast-iron or Orangeburg pipe. Once it fails, sewage drains into the crawlspace itself instead of the street main.
How do you clean sewage out from under a house after a broken pipe?
We contain the area, extract the sewage, remove contaminated insulation and vapor barrier, sanitize and deodorize every surface, and verify the space is dry and safe before closing it back up. If the broken line needs repair, we coordinate that too.
